As a database administrator, you are in charge of important databases that span multiple platforms and environments. You are a strong team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You build complex, highly scalable databases that meet business needs and security requirements. You are an expert in optimizing, maintaining, and troubleshooting databases, but also in designing archival, data distribution, and high-availability solutions.

This program path will help youth build an understanding of Database Management topics: Core Database Concepts, Creating Database Objects, Manipulating Data, Data Storage, and Administering a Database.


  • Provides 11th and 12th graders with the opportunity to develop skills in building, installing, and repairing computers and basic networks. Youth study computer hardware, operating principles, system configuration, operating systems, troubleshooting, and an introduction to networking.
  • Creates youth who can be responsible for the secure design, implementation and maintenance of networked systems. Key concepts such as routing, switching, server operating systems, email systems, IP Telephony, wireless and virtualization will be explored in detail.
  • Provides competency in: Network security, compliance and operational security, threats and vulnerabilities, application, data and host security, access control and identity management, cryptography.
  • Students will be exposed to the process of establishing and using a troubleshooting methodology, as well as the Windows 7 Enterprise Desktop Support Technicians (EDSTs) Tier 2 support environment, job role and responsibilities. Additionally, students will be exposed to various troubleshooting tools and techniques that enable them to address the common Windows 7 issues in an enterprise network environment.
  • This training course helps Youth prepare for Microsoft Technology Associate Exam 98-364, and build an understanding of these topics: Core Database Concepts, Creating Database Objects, Manipulating Data, Data Storage, and Administering a Database. The Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) is Microsoft’s newest suite of technology certification exams that validate fundamental knowledge needed to begin building a career using Microsoft technologies. This program provides an appropriate entry point to a future career in technology and provides both hands-on experience and training.
  • This Oracle Database: SQL and PL/SQL Fundamentals training delivers the fundamentals of SQL and PL/SQL along with the benefits of the programming languages using Oracle Database technology. You'll explore the concepts of relational databases. This training will prepare you for the Oracle Database 12c: SQL Fundamentals Exam.
  • This Oracle Database 12c: Admin, Install and Upgrade course covers the detailed implementation, enhancement and maintenances of Oracle Databases. It consists of the Oracle Database 12c: Administration Workshop Ed 1 course and the Oracle Database 12c: Install and Upgrade Workshop Ed 1 course. This course will teach you about the Oracle Database architecture and you will discover how to effectively manage an Oracle Database instance. You will also be provided key information on how to install and administer Oracle Database 12c.
